I have had my D10 for over two years and it is a constant companion on our trips. It’s my go to camera for snorkeling or in adverse weather conditions. It has never failed me except for one minor detail that took me a bit of time to resolve. Before I bought the camera I had read owner reviews which described a lens error problem – in fact one owner returned the camera because he couldn’t eliminate the problem. If the lens error appears the camera is rendered useless. I didn’t experience the problem until recently.
I can reproduce the problem when the camera is in the playback mode – simply press the shutter button and the lens error appears. I’m sure that this has happened to others by accident. The way to resolve the problem is to turn off the camera, remove the battery for a few minutes, replace the battery and turn on the camera. Repeat if it doesn’t clear the first time, wait a few more minutes before replacing the battery.
It may be a minor annoyance but the camera is not broken.
Other than that minor issue the camera has been flawless within its limits – as has been noted by others this is not an expensive DSLR and does have limitations. But it will take good quality shots in better light conditions.
I have always had Canon cameras and will remain loyal when I want a replacement.
